Official Launch Press Release

Hearst Magazines Digital Media Partners With RecipeBridge to Launch GreatRecipes.com

New vertical search engine simplifies the hunt for recipes online by aggregating content from more than 250 recipe web sites

New York -July 20, 2010 - Hearst Magazines Digital Media and RecipeBridge, the web's largest search engine for recipes, today announced that the two companies have partnered to launch a recipe vertical search engine GreatRecipes.com (http://www.greatrecipes.com). The site will aggregate content from more than 300 recipe web sites, making the hunt for great recipes a one-site searching experience.

GreatRecipes.com greatly simplifies the multiple Google searches typically required to find that 'great recipe' to prepare. Results are created based on the search terms, criteria entered and the viewing and rating habits of other users. This unique combination of methods allows users to quickly find the exact type of recipe they are looking for. For example, users can search based on their refrigerator contents or from one of the many popular great recipe collections. Site visitors can also vote on recipes they think are great and find recipes that the community has voted up.

"This partnership and site launch dovetails nicely with our efforts to provide people with tools that make accessing information simpler and more immediate," said Chuck Cordray, senior vice president and general manager of Hearst Magazines Digital Media. "GreatRecipes.com will also help to drive traffic to our existing sites with food content including Delish.com, Redbookmag.com, GoodHousekeeping.com and CountryLiving.com and better utilize the thousands of amazing recipes that are archived throughout our network."

"GreatRecipes.com makes finding the best recipes on the Internet fast and easy through a combination of search, social rating and recommendations," said Andy Theimer, co-founder, RecipeBridge. "The site combines the best of the social bookmarking community ranking systems that you find on sites such as Digg.com, with an incredible vertical recipe searching tool. The innovative features combined with millions of searchable recipes present the ideal tool for all food enthusiasts whether they are amateur cooks or experienced chefs."
